This project was my graduation project from Willem de Kooning Academy. In this project, I created an interactive learning installation (environment) for the development of youth in the open spaces of Rotterdam Zuid, with a focus on youth hanging out in the area.

 

This installation combined different functions based on the needs, habits, and results of loitering.

Chosen location: Spoorweghaven plein, Rotterdam Zuid.

This location is surrounded by three neighborhoods in Rotterdam Zuid. This location was chosen to become a central gathering point for the three surrounding neighborhoods. Building a place for discovery, collaboration, contact, challenges, and competition between the youth themselves and with other people. Which can have a positive effect on learning. These functions grow within the installation, and every new function will focused on the needs and behavior of the loitering youth and neighborhoods.
